The HSOTC has a state required voucher program for any kitten or puppy adopted from our shelter. Added to the required adoption fees, the cost of this voucher is $40 and can be used at any of our Tuolumne County and some Calaveras County veterinary practices.
Spay & Neuter Low Income Voucher Program
The Spay & Neuter Group of the HSOTC has a targeted spay/neuter low income voucher program aimed at assisting those residents most in need. The voucher(s) help reduce the cost of spaying or neutering the pets of qualifying Tuolumne County residents (verfication of a gross total household income must be provided). Helping to reinforce this program is our local participating veterinarians who reduce their fees in accordance with the terms and conditions of the voucher. If an application is approved and funding is available, the voucher covers a portion of the cost with the balance covered by the client. SNAP - Spay & Neuter Assistance Program (Cats Only)
The goal of the Spay & Neuter Assistance Program (SNAP) is to end pet overpopulation by reducing the number of homeless cats and to educate the public about the importance of spaying/neutering your pets. If your gross household income is at or below $21200, you qualify for SNAP. Along with a completed application, which is available from local Tuolumne County veterinarians or at our shelter or Purrrfect Bargains thrift store, you must submit proof of household income to be considered.
