Q1. What happens to my request once I submit the completed questionnaire?

A1. The information you have provided goes into our secure database. Your response to the questions is then reviewed and a profile created for your specific request. With this profile, we review the animals currently available at our shelter to see if there�s a match. If not, we keep a record of your request, and as new animals arrive, we review your request criteria to see if there�s a match. This process will continue for the timeline you have specified until a match is found and/or you request to be removed from the search prior to you specified timeframe.

Q2. What happens when the shelter locates the type of pet I�m looking for?

A2. Once we have located what we believe is a good match to your request, we will contact you by telephone and arrange for an agreeable time for you to meet and spend some time with you new best friend. If we leave a message on voice mail and you have provided us with an email address, we will also follow-up with a notification via email.

Q3. Do you hold my matched pet for me or can he/she be adopted by another family?

A3. We adopt out our animals on a first come, first serve basis. If we find that an incoming animal matches your submitted request, we will attempt to reach you. If we do not hear from you within 24 hours, the animal can be adopted by anyone who is seeking an animal companion.

Q4. What if the pet doesn�t match what I was hoping for?

A4. Since we want to ensure that our pets and the owners are the perfect match we�re all looking for, we will continue to keep your file active until another match becomes available and once again contact you to set up a convenient time to meet your new best friend.

Q5. Is there a charge for this service?

A5. No, there is no cost for this pet profiling/matching service. It�s a service that�s unique to The Humane Society of Tuolumne County to ensure that we have the best opportunity to match and place as many of our animals as possible in a timely manner.

Q6: How long will my information remain active?

A6. When completing the questionnaire, you specify the timeframe that best describes how quickly or how long you would like us to search for your pet. Unless you call to be removed from the list, we will continue to search within those timeline parameters. If, however, a match is not found within that timeframe and you have not requested that we extend the search, your information and request will be removed from our search process.
