OCTOBER EVENTS

The Humane Society of Tuolumne County recently had the pleasure of participating in the Tuolumne County Youth Health Fair Otober 28, 2008. We worked with 7th-10th grade students from all educational environments to expand awareness of local programs and activities that promote their general health and well being. We promoted Humane Education and had fun doing it! We had a wonderful time at the fair, and hope to be involved again next year! Below are some photos taken from that day.

Below, volunteers interact with our county's youth-promoting responsible pet ownership. Thank  you volunteers!

Talking about the prevention of heart worm in dogs...

Children love animals, which is why we promote Humane care. We want children to understand the importance and the great responsbiity (and joy) of having a pet.

                                                             SEPTEMBER EVENTS

We would like to graciously thank the GC Avicultural Society and Mary Silva for
allowing us to have a booth(at no cost) at the Exotic Animal Expo September 6th at the
Sonora fairgrounds. They are very supportive of our cause and The Humane Society
wishes to let them know how much we appreciate it. We had a very good time there
and handed out TONS of information, had things for sale, kitties for adoption, sold
grand cayman tickets, handed out treats, stickers, and book marks, had photos for
people to browse and all of our latest union democrat articles, print outs of dogs and
cats for adoption, successful volunteer applicants, people filling our doggy and kitty
banks, and more. It was a wonderful event and we were proud to be a part of it!

Thank you to the volunteers, donors, sponsors, and of course, the golfers!

A more detailed list of the businesses who contributed was posted in the Union Democrat

and The Calaveras Enterprise. $100 Tee Sponsors are advertised in our next newsletter,
coming out in October, and $500 Hole Sponsors will get one year of advertising in our newsletter.

Marketing Director's Notes:
The event itself was amazing. The amount of support the animals receive from our community is
something that makes me realize that this is why I love my job. When people come together to
do something to make a difference and I can be but even a small part of that, I feel blessed. I feel
blessed to live in a community that cares. Here are a few photos of the event. What a beautiful
venue- a beautiful day! The volunteers worked so hard all day long, and before the event making
baskets and getting donations for our raffle and auction. The Humane Society of Tuolumne County
is lucky to have such dedicated, hard working volunteers.

Above, just some of the beautiful baskets we had in our raffle.

The dinner was a great way to relax after a long day of golf!

We had WONDERFUL Hole in One Prizes!

Everyone worked so hard! Thank you to Calaveras Humane Society for all their hard work too!
